Brief Usage Overview


Small enough to fit in your pocket or purse, PAX heats your aromatic blends to release a delicious, satisfying vapor. This simple and sleek device is the world’s most pocketable, premium vaporizer. Load aromatic blends into PAX’s oven and lightly tamp down. Power on PAX by pressing in the retractable mouthpiece and allowing it to spring into the “on” position. PAX’s indicator light will turn green once fully heated and ready for use. Removing the mouthpiece reveals a temperature button to cycle through presets as needed.

Using Your PAX

A: PAX was designed to be easy to use. Starting with a fully charged PAX, simply fill the oven with your medium-fine ground blend, turn PAX on by clicking the mouthpiece open, and wait for the purple ‘X’ to turn green, and begin to draw!

A: PAX prefers a medium-fine grind consistency, firmly loaded.
A: PAX should pre-heat in as little as 30 seconds.
A: PAX has three settings, low, medium and high. These are chosen via a LED button that is revealed when the mouthpiece is removed. The setting you chose will remain after you power cycle PAX.
A: Factors such as grind consistency(the same particle size throughout), grind size(medium-fine is best, avoid finely ground, and hand-ground blends.) combined with your draw rate will all determine the vapor quality. Vary these factors as needed to find your desired vapor quality.
A: No, we highly advise against the use of liquid or solid concentrates in your PAX.

A: No, PAX is a true vaporizer, gently heating aromatic blends to release vapor.  
A: PAX is made from the highest quality stainless steel, used in the conduction oven and vapor path. The outer shell is made from anodized aluminum casing in four colors.

A: Your PAX screen is specially designed as a solid plate without holes, though it does have a screen-like pattern. The air circulation is facilitated by the scalloped edges and rounded corners of the screen.

A: The device has an on-board accelerometer. If the device sits still for 20 seconds, it goes into standby mode, your Pax light will turn blue and will reach a lower heat setting, around 150°C. Once you pick the device up or move it, PAX will heat up and the LED will turn green (heated) or purple (heating) based on current temperature, then will return to the last temperature setting selected.

If the device sits still for 3 minutes, PAX will shut off. A bumpy car ride is enough motion to keep the device awake.

As a general safety rule, do not leave PAX unattended while powered on.

A:  Originally, PAX vaporizers only accepted 100-120 volts. A revision was quickly made and, now, all PAX vaporizers come with a charger that supports 100-240 volts. Vape World carries the latest PAX inventory with the 100-240v chargers. However, the charger’s prongs will only fit an American outlet. Please refer to your charger’s label for voltage details.
A: Yes, the current batch of PAX chargers support 110-240 volts; however, you will likely still need to use the appropriate converter for your location and outlet system to avoid damaging the unit.  
A: No, PAX must be charged and off of the charger before use.
A: We recommend puffing on PAX like a cigar, or sipping on the vapor as if it were hot tea.

A: With PAX facing you, place your finger or thumb on the top right side of the mouthpiece. Depress the mouthpiece slowly until you hear a click. If you bottom it out, you have gone too far and the mouthpiece will not lock into place.
A: Hold Pax horizontally in front of you and roll it towards yourself multiple times. Party mode overrides the standby mode while the LED continuously flashes multiple colors.   

Cleaning & Maintenance

A: Always allow PAX to cool COMPLETELY before cleaning, 30 minutes should be sufficient.

Do not attempt any internal or external repairs to your unit as doing so may cause fatal injury – or worse – void your warranty! (Please contact us if you feel something is wrong with your vaporizer.)

Handle your PAX with care, as you would any sensitive electronic device.

Inspect your PAX periodically, paying particular attention to the mouthpiece, vapor path,and screen/oven.

PAX has provided a handy cleaning guide which is located on the ‘User Guide’ tab on the left, and we carry replacement PAX cleaning kits if your supplies have run low.

Always make sure your vaporizer is COMPLETELY dry before plugging it back in.

A: PAX is a precision device. It’s important to clean PAX on a regular basis. If you clean your PAX well, it shouldn’t need to be cleaned for at least a dozen or so uses to remain in top performance. Of course, the more the merrier! Please note, wetter tobacco may require more frequent cleaning. Inspect your parts periodically, they will tell you when they need to be cleaned.
A: Avoid bringing any liquids near Pax or vice versa. We definitely recommend the cleaning swabs that come with Pax or its replacement cleaning kit. You can soak the mouthpiece and the screen in alcohol, but no other part!
A: As you periodically inspect PAX, focus on the removable mouthpiece, the vapor path, and oven.
A: if you have lost or damaged any part of your PAX, check out PAX parts page for replacement parts, or contact us if you have further questions.
A: Start with PAX cleaning kit, and that should take care of most needs. Contact us if it does not.
A: This lubricant is made from propylene glycol, and is not intended to replace cleaning; however, if your Pax mouthpiece action seems to be a bit sticky, and/or if your PAX LED indicator displays the temperature setting when your mouthpiece is in the “on” position, applying this lubricant should resolve the issue.
A: PAX’s mouthpiece can be submerged in isopropyl alcohol. 90% or higher is ideal, but 70% will work. Submerge and wait 20 minutes, then agitate. Use PAX’s cleaning tool inside the stainless steel mouthpiece stem if needed. If any residue remains, repeat process.
A: Apply a small droplet of lubricant into the stem of the metal tube and another droplet on the outside of the tube. Use the packet to smudge it all around the tube and under the sliding ring. Re-insert your mouthpiece into PAX and press the mouthpiece in and out a few times to distribute the lubricant. You don’t need a large amount – a little goes a long way!

A: We recommend that you do not soak the oven lid. Isopropyl alcohol can be applied to a cotton swab to wipe the oven lid clean.

Getting the Most Out of Your Pax

  • First things first, two hours on the charging dock = a happy Pax.
  • A firmly loaded, full oven = an even happier Pax!
  • With a clean and lubricated mouthpiece, Pax runs like a well-oiled machine.
  • Fully satisfied? To power off, press the mouthpiece GENTLY inward until the FIRST CLICK.
  • Your Pax is smart. Learn what its LED indicator is telling you in the included User Guide.



Pax is a precision device and should be cleaned on a regular basis. While Pax is powered on, remove mouthpiece and soak in soap and water. Let mouthpiece dry before replacing. To clean Pax body, remove mouthpiece and oven lid. Moisten cleaning tool with supplied alcohol wipe. Starting from the mouthpiece end, insert moistened cleaning tool into the vapor pathway, pushing out the oven screen. Floss Pax with cleaning tool. To clean Pax oven, oven lid, and screen, use a moistened bent cleaning tool or moistened cotton swab to remove residue. Screens will need to be replaced as necessary. Apply lubricant after every cleaning session.

Lubricant Instructions
  • Open lubricant packet.
  • Drip a small droplet of lubricant into the stem of the metal mouthpiece tube.
  • Apply another small droplet on the outside of the metal tube. Use the packet to smudge it all around the tube and under the small sliding part.
  • Replace your mouthpiece into Pax and press the mouthpiece in and out 10-20 times to distribute the lubricant.

Need Assistance with your PAX?

Try these Solutions to common issues:

“A: PAX’s mouthpiece does not have a vapor path in the center; it is located directly above the silver stem, under a little lip on the side. To confirm this, remove the mouthpiece and oven lid from the unit, then blow through PAX with your hand on the oven side to see if any air can be felt.
A: Ensure PAX is fully charged. The front LED should illuminate on the charger. The LED should also illuminate when PAX is turned on.
A: Grind blends finely and fill the oven tightly. If your PAX’s oven is cooled off, you can tamp your blends down with the short side of your oven lid. Draw from PAX like a cigar; a series of short puffs.
A: Clean metal charging contacts, try charging with PAX oriented opposite direction on dock. Contact us if this is unsuccessful.  
A: Blow warm air from your mouth into the mouthpiece area.  Contact us  if this is unsuccessful.  
A: This is VERY common for first time users. With PAX’s front LED facing you, place finger or thumb on the right side of the mouthpiece. Depress the mouthpiece slowly until you hear a click. If you bottom it out or hear a second click, you have gone too far and the mouthpiece spring will not lock into place. It may take a few tries!
A: While removing your unit from the charger, there may have been some intermittent connection made between the electrical contacts. When this happens, your PAX will initiate a new charging/condition cycle, and will take awhile to turn green on the charger again. During this time, checking your battery life might result in a yellow (medium) charge indication despite the battery being full. To prevent this from occurring, please make sure to fully remove your PAX from the charger quickly to assure the contacts are not making a brief connection.

10 Year Ltd. Warranty

PAX Labs, Inc. warrants PAX against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ten (10) years from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser. If a physical defect arises and a claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option and to the extent permitted by law, PAX Labs, Inc. will either (1) Repair the product defect, (2) Exchange the product with a product that is new or is at least a functionally equivalent product, or (3) Refund the purchase price of the product. The Limited Warranty does not apply to normal performance degradation of batteries or neglecting to adhere to cleaning instructions. PAX Warranty is only serviceable in the US and Canada, as PAX is only available for purchase in the US and Canada, at this time.

Exclusions and Limitations

The Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured by PAX, Inc. The Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-PAX products. This warranty does not apply to (a) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, acts of piracy, or other external causes; (b) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended use as described by PAX; (c) to a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability; (d) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic. Important: Warranty applies to original end-user purchaser only and is non-transferable. Warranty does not apply should you purchase through a 3rd party reseller such as eBay and Craigslist. PAX warranties only apply to devices purchased at any authorized retailer serviced by an authorized PAX distributor. For questions regarding authorized retailers, please contact us via email. Intentionally opening up or disassembling your device in any way will void your warranty.
