Brief Overview

The Solo, by Canadian manufacturer Arizer, is a powerful yet exceptionally efficient portable vaporizer. Producing superior vapor quality compared to its competitors, the Solo is a top choice for on-the-go vaporization. The Solo has LED temperature controls, a glass vapor path, and a long-lasting battery.

See User Guides below for full usage information.

Using Your Solo

A: The Solo is simple to use. We definitely recommend viewing the User Guide tab on the left for full instructions from Arizer, but it’s just this easy: After the Solo is preheated, load the glass chamber on the end of the glass wand, load the glass wand into the Solo, and take a smooth draw. What could be easier?
A: The optimum grind for the Solo is a consistent, medium grind. Finer grinds might travel through the stem holes, and chunkier pieces have a difficult time vaporizing efficiently.
A: Two (2) minutes should be sufficient.
A: Yes. Each time you turn the Solo on, you’ll choose what temperature level (1-7) you would like.
A: The Solo is a very consistent vaporizer, with even heating and steady airflow. The only real factor in determining vapor quality is the consistency and size of your ground blend. Vary the grind level to see how it effects vapor production.
A: The Solo was designed for use with aromatic blends only.
A: Our inventory is always up-to-date; we carry the most current models. Currently that model is the 2014 with passthrough technology.
A: The Solo comes with 1 straight mp, 1 bent mp and a small potpourri dish.
A: The Solo utilizes a ceramic heating element and a stainless steel heating crucible.
A: The heating chamber in the stem should be full, but not loaded tightly.
A: The unit actually does have a ceramic heating element. In the older models, you can see the ceramic. But in the newer models feature a stainless steel heater cover/crucible, to protect the heating element from chipping or cracking.
A: No, the Solo Vaporizer features an isolated stainless steel heating element that does not come into contact with any aluminum.
A: The mouthpiece from the solo does actually fit, but can be a bit tricky to work in. You have to heat the unit up to allow the components to expand a bit, and that will allow the mouthpiece to fit in the unit. Used gentle force, but be careful, this is glass!
A: The new Solo mouthpieces are supposed to fit more loosely then the old ones. However, all new So
los will encounter some resistance when trying to insert the mouthpiece. You must set the Solo to 7 for 1-2 12 minute periods, to break in the devices gasket.
A: None! The Solo does not require screens! There are four holes in the mouthpiece, that act as the screen.
A: No, we do not carry the wooden stem, but we do carry extra glass stems.
A: It does come charged but it is better to fully charge it after the first use.
A: About 4 hours to charge from almost fully depleted.

** Note: It is best for Lithium Ion batteries to NOT be fully discharged, always charge your Solo before running the battery all the way down.

A: Battery will last for anywhere in between 3-4 hours, about 10-15 sessions.

Avoid storing the Solo or its batteries in cold or freezing areas; this will cause accelerated battery depletion. If you are headed into colder climates and are bringing the Solo along, Keep it in warm area, such as inside your warmest layers. Body heat is a perfect shield against the cold.

A: Possibly. If you have a new 2014 Solo with passthrough, and also the optional Power Adapter.

The AC adapter that came with the the Solo charges the battery, but does not permit passthrough.

The Power Adapter allows passthough, but does not charge the battery.

A: When you turn the Solo on, you are given a reading of the current battery level via the LED’s on the front.
A: The Solo will turn itself off after 12 minutes of inactivity.

As a general safety rule, do not leave the Solo unattended while powered on.

A: When you turn on the Solo by simultaneously pressing both buttons, the LED’s will illuminate to indicate the level of battery power, measured from 1 light (nearly depleted) to 7 lights (fully charged).
A: Yes. Please contact Arizer for more information.
A: If you have a newer Solo model that allows passthrough, we carry the Solo Power Adapter that allows you to use the Solo even when the battery is depleted.

Note that the Solo Power Adapter that allows for passthrough will not charge the battery. It will only allow operation.

A: The Solo heats up in under 2 1/2 minutes and utilizes 7 different levels of preset temperatures.

Temperature Presets & Average Warm-Up Times:

  • Level 1: 50°C / 122°F (15 sec)
  • Level 2: 185°C / 365°F (1 min)
  • Level 3: 190°C / 374°F (1 min 10)
  • Level 4: 195°C / 383°F (1 min 30 sec)
  • Level 5: 200°C / 393°F (1 min 50 sec)
  • Level 6: 205°C / 401°F (2 min 10 sec)
  • Level 7: 210°C / 410°F (2 min 30 sec)
A: To return to your last used temperature, press and hold the down arrow for about 3 seconds after you turn it on while it is still in idle mode.
A: The Solo gives you control over how lengthy your sessions will be with its 7 different temperature levels. The lower temperatures will make your material last longer, enabling you to reuse the same load throughout the day. If you are ever in a hurry, the higher temperature settings enable you to vaporize the load in one quick session.
A: Though some people have reported use of concentrates with the Solo, it is not geared towards them. It is not recommended to use the Solo for anything other than aromatic blends.
A: No, the outer shell of the Solo does not get hot when you hold it.

However, please keep in mind that the ceramic heating element and mouthpiece do get hot after extensive use, make sure to use caution while replacing your blend.

A: The cover on the Solo Vaporizer keep any debris from falling into the heating chamber when not in use, or during transit. While the cover is made from a heat resistant material, you do want to remove it as soon as you turn on the Solo so that you can insert your Solo Vaporizer Curved Mouthpiece or Solo Vaporizer Straight Mouthpiece and begin the Vaporization process.
A: It does not come with a case but their are two different type of cases available.
A: Cold and freezing weather will cause batteries to deplete faster than normal, if you plan on being out and about in the cold, keep your Solo close to your body to keep its temperature normal.
A: To silence the beeping, once you turn the Solo on and it is in idle mode, hold the left button (^) for a few seconds. This will turn the beeping off when you turn the Solo on and off.

Cleaning & Maintenance

A: Always unplug the vaporizer from the electrical outlet and allow to cool COMPLETELY before cleaning, 30 minutes should be sufficient.

Always make sure your vaporizer is COMPLETELY dry before plugging it back in.

Do not attempt any internal or external repairs to your unit as doing so may cause fatal injury – or worse – void your warranty! (Please contact us if you feel something is wrong with your vaporizer.)

The aluminum will not need to be cleaned often but can be cleaned with a damp cloth and the glass parts are cleaned by soaking in rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner over night.

We have full cleaning instructions on the Cleaning tab on the left.

A: Your glass stem will be collecting the most buildup, so clean it as needed with isopropyl alcohol. Check the crucible periodically for debris and use a cotton swab to clean as needed. Do not put any liquids inside the heating crucible.
A: Its perfect for cleaning your glass stems, but we don’t recommend it on other parts of the Solo. A damp warm cloth should be sufficient to the non-glass parts.
A: Definitely the glass stems, but check the crucible periodically.
A: The Solo is pretty indestructible, but if you happen to break the glass stems, we have replacements available.
A: For the glass stems, isopropyl alcohol and chenille sticks work best. For the main body, a lightly damp cloth will be sufficient.
A: The new Solo mouthpieces are supposed to fit more loosely then the old ones. However, all new Solos will encounter some resistance when trying to insert the mouthpiece. You must set the Solo to 7 for 1-2 12 minute periods, to break in the devices gasket.

Ordering – Returns – Warranty

A: The Solo features a two year manufacturer’s warranty, restricted to normal use. Due to quality craftsmanship, the Solo’s Heating Element is backed by a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty.
A: This means that we are able to provide more efficient customer service on returns and minor issues from several manufacturers. This also means that you have a unique serial numbered unit that assures your service guarantee. Purchase from an unauthorized distributor and you may not get the same support.
A: Not at this time.
A: Vape World handles all warranty requests for Arizer products, see the ‘Warranty’ tab for more information.

Getting the Most Out of Your Solo

  • Always allow your Solo to fully preheat before use.
  • Do not load your blends too tightly in the stem, this will restrict airflow
  • Air does not flow freely through the Solo, many liken the experience to drinking a shake out of a straw. Don’t try to force it, learn what the Solo can provide, and adjust your draw accordingly.
  • Avoid completely depleting the battery before recharging.
  • Do not load your blends to lightly, they may fall out of the stem and make contact with the crucible; this will accelerate your next Solo Cleaning.
  • If you aren’t getting exactly the vapor quality you are after, look at adjusting any and/or all of the following variables until you find your sweet spot.
    • Grind Consistency – are the ground-up particles all roughly the same size?
    • Grind level – the Solo prefers a medium grind, but experiment with finer or coarser grinds to see if it achieves the result you are after.
    • Amount Used – Some vaporizers thrive when loaded fully. Others, not so much.
    • Draw Rate – Convection vaporizers with good airflow can have their temperatures altered by the speed at which you draw a breath. As the air passes over the heating element, obviously it heats up. If you draw fast, causing the air to move quickly over the heating element, it only has “X” amount of time to heat up. However if you draw slowly, the air has much more time to heat up, and therefore will deliver a much warmer air to your blends. Drawing fast = cooler temps; drawing slow = warmer temps.
  • The draw on the Solo is not fast. Slow down your own draw until you match that of the Solo, this will increase your enjoyment immensely. Slow and steady is the key to Solo success.
  • Do not block the air inlets. on the top and bottom of the Solo

Glass Mouthpieces

The mouthpieces are obviously the most important piece to clean and also the piece you’ll be cleaning most often. Whether you have the older angled mouthpieces with two holes in the chamber or the newer angled and straight mouthpieces with 4 holes, the cleaning methods are the same. Start with taking a tooth pick and poking any material stuck in the holes out of there. You should really do this after every time you use the Solo.

The most common method is letting your mouthpieces soak overnight in Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Try to use 91% Isopropyl, as that is the most pure. After soaking overnight simply wash them off with warm water, but don’t just give it a quick rinse, make sure you get all of the alcohol out of there to avoid a nasty taste when you use it next.

Another method that is popular amongst the lazier Solo user is to put the mouthpieces in the dishwasher. DO NOT just throw them in there anywhere. Even though the glass is pretty thick cut on the mouthpieces they are unlikely to survive a trip through the dishwasher when left anywhere. Place them in the bin you use for cutlery and put NOTHING else in there with them.

Potpurri Dish

If you often use the potpourri dish that comes with the Solo you can use the same method of soaking it in 91% Isopropyl that is used with the mouthpieces. However, do not use the dishwasher method. The thin glass of the chamber part of the dish will almost certainly break.
